Jacquis McCray, Jr. joined the Stevenson staff as defensive coordinator in the summer of 2018. He will work primarily with the defensive backs.
A veteran of the coaching staff at his alma mater, Salisbury University, McCray spent the 2017 season as the defensive coordinator at Annapolis High School. While there he coached a pair of All-Conference performers and worked primarily with the safeties.
At Salisbury, McCray coached a total of 15 All-Conference performers as he coached a total of 11 seasons with the Sea Gulls, working with the defensive line and linebackers. Salisbury made five NCAA appearances during his tenure and won three conference titles, capturing the Empire 8 crown in 2011 and 2012 and the NJAC title in 2015. The Sea Gulls also were victorious in four ECAC bowl games during his tenure.
McCray was the defensive coordinator at Division II Cheyney for the 2014 campaign, where he coached a trio of All-PSAC selections.
McCray played at Salisbury from 2002-05 and was named All-Conference as a senior after leading the team in tackles. He earned his Bachelor’s in Physical Education and went on to earn a Master’s in Post Secondary Education in 2009.
