DANBURY, Conn. – The Stevenson University football team has qualified for postseason for the fourth straight season as it has been selected to compete at the third annual ECAC Division III Football Fest. The Mustangs (6-4) will face Alfred (7-3) in the James Lynah Bowl on Sunday, November 19 at noon at Delaware Stadium on the campus of the University of Delware in Newark, Del.

Stevenson is competing in its second ECAC bowl game, as it defeated Bethany 29-7 in the 2014 ECAC Southeast Bowl at Mustang Stadium. The Mustangs qualified for the NCAAs for the first time in 2016, while in 2015 the team was a 14-9 win over Muhlenberg in the inaugural Centennial-MAC Bowl Series.
Alfred (7-3) is a member of the Empire 8 Conference and finished tied for second in the conference standings with a 5-2 league mark. The Saxons are in the postseason for the third consecutive year, as they were also NCAA participants a season ago, while in 2015 Alfred edged Fitchburg State 11-10 in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl.
This will be the first meeting between Stevenson and Alfred and the first time the Mustangs have played a team from the Empire 8 Conference.
