ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior running back Devonte Williams of the Stevenson University football team was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office Sunday morning. It marks the second time this season a Mustang has won the award, and the second time in his career that Williams has won it.
Williams rushed for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Stevenson improved to 8-0 (7-0 MAC) and extended its win streak to 10 games dating back to last season. He carried 28 times and both of his touchdown runs were for 32 yards as he averaged 7.3 yards per carry. Williams also blocked a punt on special teams in the victory.
This season, Williams has carried 74 times for 382 yards, while also catching seven passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Ranked No. 12 in the AFCA poll and No. 14 in the D3football.com Top 25, Stevenson hosts Wilkes for Senior Day on Saturday, November 5 at 1:00 pm at Mustang Stadium. The Mustangs can wrap up the MAC championship and accompanying NCAA berth with a victory over the Colonels.
