OWINGS MILLS, Md. - In a collaborative effort with the Office of Career Services, the Stevenson Department of Athletics will host a Sports Industry Symposium in Rockland Center on the Owings Mills campus on Wednesday, February 20. The event will run from 11:00 a.m., to 1:30 p.m.
The purpose of the symposium is to expose students to various career paths in the world of sport and to hear directly from successful industry representatives. Students will be given a program with guest speaker biographies, head shots and career advice.
The speakers will meet and greet students during a free lunch and then tell their story during one of two breakout sessions. This will include the speakers' background, how they got their current position, duties of their current role and advice for someone wanting to break into the field.
Two breakout sessions are being offered so students have the opportunity to hear more than one story.
Confirmed guests include representatives from the National Football League, Baltimore Ravens, Ripken Baseball, Babe Ruth Sports Museum, Johns Hopkins University, Towson University, ESPN Radio, Dick's Sporting Goods, Under Armour, the Chesapeake Bayhawks and more!
We encourage those in attendance to share their experience and feedback through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and others. When tweeting, please use the hash tag #SUSIS for Stevenson University Sports Industry Symposium.
