OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University men's and women's swimming teams are set to compete at the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships this weekend beginning Thursday, February 15. The event, which takes place at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa., wraps up on Sunday, February 18.
Ticket prices for preliminary sessions (including Thursday night) are $6 for adults and $3 for students, while finals sessions are $7 for adults and $4 for students. Day passes are available for Friday, Saturday or Sunday for $12 for adults and $5 for students, while all-session passes are $30 for adults and $15 for students.
In the pre-championship coaches polls released Monday, the Mustang women were tabbed seventh after their fourth-place finish from last season, while the men were selected 12th.
On the women's side, the Mustangs will look to start strong out of the gate as they are seeded third in the first event, the 200-yard medley relay, while they are seeded seventh in the 800 freestyle relay and 400 yard medley relay. Stevenson is also the No. 6 seed in the women's 200 and 400 freestyle relay.
junior Juli Burnett is seeded second in the 100-yard breaststroke, seventh in the 50 freestyle and ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke. Classmate Izzy Ramsland is the No. 7 seed in the 100 yard butterfly and No. 8 in the 200 butterfly, while Colby Stein is fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. In the 200-yard backstroke, sophomore Melanie Milam is posted fifth.
For the men, senior Zac Cather is seeded No. 15 in the 200 butterfly and No. 16 in the 100 butterfly.
For the first time in 2017-18, every member of the Stevenson men's and women's rosters qualified for the MAC Championship.
