Matthew Sedgley, M.D., serves as one of Stevenson's team physicians and has been affiliated with the University since 2012.
Dr. Sedgley is a primary care physician, fellowship trained in sports medicine. His special interests include musculoskeletal injuries, evaluation of non-surgical orthopedic problems, and concussion. He also serves as a team physician for the University of Maryland at Baltimore County.
Named a 2017 “Top Doc” by Baltimore Magazine for Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Dr. Sedgley currently works for MedStar Union Memorial Sports Medicine and is a board certified family medicine physician who is ATLC, ACLS and PALS certified.
Dr. Sedgley trained as a primary care sports medicine specialist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine that provides coverage to the Baltimore Ravens, University of Maryland, UMBC, Coppin State and Stevenson.
A 1996 graduate of the University of Maryland, Dr. Sedgley earned his doctor of medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2000 before completing an internship and residency in family practice at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Riverside Campus. He also completed his fellowship at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Sedgley was the medical director of the marathon held by the Stillwater Medical Group from 2003-11. He began work as a physician at Fairview Southdale Hospital in 2001.
A native of Maryland, Dr. Sedgley is a graduate of Bel Air High School.
